salt water or fresh water: Salt water. You can’t surf in a lake
Humans or mermaids: Humans, always. The longer I’m a mermaid, the more I’m figuring out how vicious they can be.
Muscles or brains: Both. I’m lucky because Kona and Mark are both smart, strong and sexy!
vampires or werewolves: I’m a selkie girl, to tell you the truth …
cellphone or mind speak: Mindspeak. Cell phones don’t work in the ocean.
swimsuit or clothes: All swimsuit, all the time.
tail or legs: Depends on what I’m doing. Legs are easier to negotiate with, even underwater, but I go much faster with the tail. So if I’m running from Tiamat’s henchmen, I’m all about my tail. Otherwise, I choose legs.
books or music: That’s a hard one. It’s a little hard to read or listen to music in the water … But when I’m on land, books, definitely.

Tempest Maguire is happy with her decision to embrace her mermaid nature and live among her mother’s clan within the ocean’s depths. Even though training to one day ascend the throne for the aging mermaid queen is rigorous, she finds refuge in the arms of Kona, the selkie who first opened her up to her mermaid side. And in her absence, a deadly battle begins raging at the hands of Tempest’s old nemesis, the sea witch Tiamat. ReplyDeleteOceans, definitely oceans. Mountains are great, but there is something special about standing on a sun baked beach in front of a vastness of salt water. :)
