Early Review: Enchanted No More by Robin D Owens

Enchanted No More
Release Date: January 1, 2011
Publisher: Luna
ISBN: #9780373803231
Genre: Fantasy Romance
Review Copy Source: Netgalley.com
Guilt-ridden by a mistake that cost her family their lives, half-Lightfolk, half-human Jenni Weavers turns her back on her magical heritage...until her remaining brother who hates her is trapped and she's the only one who can step into an alternate dimension to save him.

Jenni is racked with grief and guilt over the death of all her family besides her brother who disowns her after the tragedy. She moved to the human world 15 years ago and has stopped using her magic until her brother lands himself in trouble and her ex lover shows up asking her for help.

I felt that the author did a good job on conveying Jenni's emotions and feelings. She is so bitter about helping in the beginning and slowly has to let go of all her anger and grief. I enjoyed all the Magical stuff, the way it is explained and the uses of it all. I enjoyed the storyline and the way it progressed but I also found it a bit slow at times. There is some nice romance, and bonding threw out the book and I didn't feel it went over board on descriptions of Aric(the ex boyfriend) as I read another review state. I found it to be a solid book with a good ending.

I give it 3/5 stars

Review: Ghost Town by Rachel Caine

Ghost Town
Author: Rachel Caine
Release Date: October 26, 2010
Publisher: NAL
ISBN: #9780451231611
Genre: Paranormal YA
The fragile peace between humans and vampires in Morganville is in trouble, and when Claire takes drastic action, she's put under serious pressure to re-establish the barriers that keep the town residents inside, and wipe the memories of those who leave. But working with her half-crazy vampire boss Myrnin means that things don't always turn out as planned ... and as the people of Morganville begin acting strangely, Claire and her friends must solve the mystery and try to put things right. But one by one, her allies are turning on her ... even the ones she trusts most.

Ahh what to say what to say.. We all know Morganville by now and it is still dangerous, crazy and out of control with vampires. Poor Claire just cant catch a break. In this book Claire has to watch everyone lose their memories and has to deal with Myrnin's craziness and memory loss on top of all that, and we all know that Myrnin is crazy enough without reverting back to his old self. Although I enjoyed this book I didn't feel it was as good as previous ones in the series. However I am still looking forward to what Rachel Caine comes up next for Claire and her friends.

I give it a 3.5/5 stars
