Antimony Price has never done well without a support system. As the youngest of her generation, she has always been able to depend on her parents, siblings, and cousins to help her out when she’s in a pinch—until now. After fleeing from the Covenant of St. George, she’s found herself in debt to the crossroads and running for her life. No family. No mice. No way out.

Lucky for her, she’s always been resourceful, and she’s been gathering allies as she travels: Sam, fūri trapeze artist turned boyfriend; Cylia, jink roller derby captain and designated driver; Fern, sylph friend, confidant, and maker of breakfasts; even Mary, ghost babysitter to the Price family. Annie’s actually starting to feel like they might be able to figure things out—which is probably why things start going wrong again.

New Gravesend, Maine is a nice place to raise a family…or make a binding contract with the crossroads. Now the crossroads want him dead and they want Annie to do the dirty deed. She owes them, after all.

And that’s before Leonard Cunningham, aka, “the next leader of the Covenant,” shows up…

It’s going to take everything Annie has and a little bit more to get out of this one. If she succeeds, she gets to go home. If she fails, she becomes one more cautionary tale about the dangers of bargaining with the crossroads.

But no pressure.

I really miss the Aeslin Mice. Can we have them back yet?

One of the things I really enjoy about this series is how well developed the characters are. I feel like I really know them and look forward to seeing them come out ahead of their troubles. We meet a new character in THAT AIN'T WITCHCRAFT that I feel will now be a big part of Annie's life and I look forward to seeing what he will bring to the story in the future.

THAT AIN'T WITCHCRAFT is full of information on the crossroads. If you wanted to know more about it and why it works the way it does, this is the book that you will find the answers to all those burning questions.

The romance in THAT AIN'T WITCHCRAFT didn't do anything for me. I love Sam as a person and character—although he was a bit whiny in this installment if I am being honest—, but I can't say I totally feel the romance between him and Annie.

I wouldn't be totally sad if the next book was about one of the other Price kids. It's not that I don't enjoy Antimony because I do, but I would love to get back to one of the other siblings as we get some information in THAT AIN'T WITCHCRAFT that made me think of them and miss them.

I gave it 3.5/5 stars

Let's Talk About Reverse Harem...(@amoscassidy, @MHSoars, @AlexLidell, @CMOwensAuthor, @TateJamesAuthor, @Kaydence_Snow, @TheAuthorPerson, @AuthorEvaChase, @JayminEve1)



So if you follow me on Goodreads, you might have noticed that I have been reading quite a bit of reverse harem novels lately. If you knew me personally you would know that I'm a total prude, so it would be shocking to see that I am enjoying them quite a bit. 

When it comes to reading reverse harem, I have realized that as long as there isn't a bunch of smut involved the multiple men for one woman doesn't bother me one bit. In fact, as long as there is a fabulous storyline involved on top of that I am enjoying the genre immensely.

I was first introduced to reverse harem with Laurel K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series. I really enjoyed them at first, but it went from books with an interesting storyline with the addition of sex with multiple men to books about sex, smutty sex, more sex, and oh yeah sex on every page with just about anyone that was available with zero storyline involved and lots of ridiculous talk about sex and the main characters lifestyles in-between. Now, I stopped reading Anita Blake around books 20-21 so I'm no sure if they have gotten better, but they just weren't for me anymore at that point and I gave up on anything Laurel K. Hamilton. If you are still reading, you will have to let me know if they have changed at all. After that though it was many many years before I gave reverse harem a shot. I'm glad I did. 

So now that I said all that. I wanted to share some of the reverse harem books/series with you that I have enjoyed and see which ones you might have read or if you have any recommendations of your own to share.

Although WILD COUNTRY wasn't my favorite installment of the Others series, I enjoyed meeting the new characters and reading about their struggles finding balance in their new world.

Bennett is rebuilding after the humans were wiped out. It was great to see more of the world that I fell in love with in WRITTEN IN RED. The relationships between the others and humans continue to evolve and grow. They are both willing to live with the other, but it takes a lot of patience and understanding.

There were a few things that made it hard to completely fall in love WILD COUNTRY. There were a few points in the setup of the story that I was just bored. It didn't totally grab me and drag me along for the ride. I also didn't love that the timeline didn't follow at the end of the previous book, LAKE SILENCE, but was on the same timeline as ETCHED IN BONE. It totally threw me off jumping back in time.

I have really enjoyed the whole Others world. The world building and the characters continue to be my favorite parts of the series. I really miss Meg and the other Lakeside residents, but the branching out and meeting others in the world has been enjoyable as well. I do hope the timeline gets back to the current time of the series though with the next book and look forward to seeing what Bishop brings us next.

I gave it 3.5/5 stars
