A RUTHLESS KILLER—OUT OF SIGHT, OUT OF MIND
I used to work for the Telepath’s Guild before they kicked me out for a drug habit that wasn’t entirely my fault. Now I work for the cops, helping Homicide Detective Isabella Cherabino put killers behind bars. My ability to get inside the twisted minds of suspects makes me the best interrogator in the department. But the normals keep me on a short leash. When the Tech Wars ripped the world apart, the Guild stepped up to save it. But they had to get scary to do it—real scary. Now the cops don’t trust the telepaths, the Guild doesn’t trust me, a serial killer is stalking the city—and I’m aching for a fix. But I need to solve this case. Fast. I’ve just had a vision of the future: I’m the next to die.
A little bit about Danny: As a social media ninja, Danny finds himself exposed to the written word 24/7. From blog posts, press releases, et al to Facebook, Twitter and beyond... his web content portfolio is well established. To say that Danny's passion for reading is well developed is an understatement. His voracious appetite for the written word has led him to sample books from all genres. His heart remains firmly entrenched in the fantasy sci-fi realm; however, he does enjoy his jaunts into other genres also.
In Clean, Alex Hughes has set a very intriguing backdrop. Society has advanced to the point of regression through no fault but its own. Citizens go through their days dealing with an interesting mix of futuristic machinery and a sad lack of tech - by necessity of course. The lead in this story is one whose tale of addiction, recovery, and reluctant penitence is one that draws you in and leaves you asking for more. It certainly leaves on looking forward to seeing how Hughes continues to build on the backstory that she teases in this novel as well as how the lead character develops in his struggle with sobriety.
